Mirrors: Print

Stoker popularized the notion that vampires cannot see themselves in mirrors. Some folklorists point to the silver that mirrors were made of being a natural vampire repellent. Others note the soul-stealing properties of mirrors as a potential trap for the vampire, who is a dead thing walking amongst the living.
